My love of Walking…another Sunday Soul Share

🕴I love to travel and explore – I walked the Northern route of the Camino de Santiago on my own a few years ago and planned to walk the Portuguese route in 2020 but Covid put paid to that – I adore hiking but despise going downhills – I always feel I’m going to smash my teeth in!

🍃Being in the middle of nowhere with beauty all around me, my 2 feet carrying me, fresh air and the freedom of the day is the most wonderful feeling and I love to share this with my husband and friends.

⌚I can happily spend 10 hours walking aimlessly, so it’s better that my companion takes control of following a route!

🐏Something that (tested and) strengthened my relationship with my husband is when I wanted to walk the circumference of Iona – at no point would I agree that it wasn’t a great idea until the sheep looked at us as if we were complete oddballs and the terrain became more and more impassable – I found it immensely entertaining but it meant we risked missing the last ferry off the island – again I relished the prospect of adventure, while my husband’s own sense of exploration and patience were tested! But we had our wee escapade, laughed our bellies off, and made the ferry!

🍻What tops a walk off is finishing off in a cosy country pub!

What funny memories do you have that have strengthened your relationship with your betrothed?
